I would start with 3 questions. What is it you value the most? What are you most thankful for? Now that you’ve answered that, how long will it last?
A new car will run 100,000 miles and wear out, a new home will need repair in time, clothes will wear out.
Matthew 6:19-21: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon Earth where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through or steal, for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
Things of Earth will pass away with time. They are all Temporal. But the things of God are Eternal. You’re very soul is Eternal. Your family, loved ones, your spouse, your children. Your family are all you have that will Live forever they are an Eternal soul.
So, as we approach Thanksgiving and Christmas let us all be thankful for the things that Matter most. Our relationship with God, our spouse, and our family.
1 Thessalonians 5:18: “In everything Give Thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” We are to be thankful in all things. Good and bad, not necessarily for them. Some things are hard but to know that God’s will is being done in our lives.
It is a sin “not” to be thankful unto God. Stay in a thankful spirit under God for all He has done for us, and you will see His will is best for your life. We as Christian’s value most is our relationship with God and His love for us.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave is only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Now that is the best gift ever not only the true reason for Christmas, a Savior Jesus Christ was giving the best gift ever. God gave his son Jesus Christ to be born into the world to pay our awful sin debt. Now that is Amazing Grace to all the world.
That word World is a big word. But put your personal name there. God so loved you! I don’t know your name, but God does. And God loves you! This is God’s gift to the world the greatest treasure, most valuable gift that will last forever and forever and forever and forever Jesus Christ came to give you Eternal life with Him and it is a free gift to you, to the world, to whosoever will believe in Him.
When you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have Eternal Life. Never ending life, a treasure that lasts forever. Money cannot buy this gift. To all that will confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe in Him for forgiveness of sins to be their Savior and Lord.
You can have the most valuable treasure that will last forever. So this Holiday season, Thanksgiving and Christmas, Keep Jesus Christ first place in your lives and give Him honor and praise. He is worthy of all praise.
Romans 1 :21 tells us, a lot of people in this world have stopped honoring God knowing by nature they believe in God but have failed to give Him honor and give Him glory, thankfulness and praise, for all He has done for them. That will lead to wrong thinking about God, and that will always lead to a downward path of spiritual darkness, separation from God.
I started with 3 questions. My last question is. Where will your heart be? Is it a dark spiritual heart? Or a heart full of love and honor glorifying and thanksgiving unto God, giving Him, His rightful place as our creator and God.
Thanking Him for His existence, His presence in our lives that He gives us through His son Jesus Christ and to live and be continually filled with the Holy Spirit of God.
