Two injured in separate accidents

TRINITY — Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a one-vehicle crash on FM 356, south of Trinity, that occurred Friday.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 12:08 p.m., a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo was traveling south. It is reported that for an unknown reason, the driver of the Isuzu failed to drive in a single lane, left the roadway to the right, and struck a culvert in the ditch.

The driver of the Isuzu, 67-year-old Raymond Coomer Jr. of Trinity, was transported to MidCoast Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Troopers also are investigating a crash that occurred on Friday on State Highway 19, approximately seven-tenths of a mile south of Doug Bell Road.

The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 8:56 p.m., a 2020 Hyundai Elantra was traveling south and reportedly left the road to the right and struck a guardrail.

The driver, 62-year-old Joan Woodruff of Grapeland, was transported to MidCoast Medical Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Both investigations are continuing.
