I don't really know what's next. I do know Who is in control!
The famous and the not so famous died this past year. As I was reviewing the famous people who have died recently, I wondered if any of them were prepared to meet the Lord. And no, I am not the judge. Some of those were followers of Christ and many were not. Sadly, many did not believe in God at all.
So, what's next?
Rich or poor, we will all appear before God, and we will have to give an answer to Him as to how we lived. Are you ready?
If you read the story of the rich man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31 you will notice the rich man was judged and so was Lazarus. And you will learn that our fate is sealed when we die. The writer of Hebrews 9:27 says, “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment.”
No one will escape the judgment.
So, what's next?
Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 1:9, what has been is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun. He almost sounds fatalistic when he writes this book. However, he sums up what is important in chapter 12, 13, 14. When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is: fear God and keep His commands, because this is for all humanity.
So, what's next? It doesn't matter. What matters is being right with God.
