San Jacinto County Women's League met last week to enjoy a wonderful lunch from Caterer Mary Gray. The guest speakers were from Coldspring Library, Maggie Mosley and Marsha Brown spoke about the history of the library, it celebrated its 40th birthday last year. Maggie is the Library Administrator and Marsha is President of the Library Board.
The library relies on fund raisers and donations to be able to offer its many programs. Look for the Princess Tea Party, a very popular event, on Feb. 28. This is a Saturday and there will be two sittings. One from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and then another from 1-2:30 p.m. Princesses may dress up, of course. Ages from 3 years to 13 years are invited to this special event with a lovely meal and lots of fun. Tickets are $25 before the day, $30 on the day.
Look for many other programs and events at our libraries in Coldspring and Shepherd. Coldspring will host another Murder Mystery Event sometime in October. The last one was a big success. Shepherd Library will hold its annual Tea Party on Friday, Jan. 23, from 3-4 p.m. Don't forget your hat. Call for information at (936) 628-3515.
Both libraries need volunteers to help with events and also in the Library. Ask how you can help if you are interested.
