The board and committee members of Women's League of San Jacinto County met last Thursday to discuss the planning of their annual Style Show. This, along with the silent auction, is the major fundraiser for the Women's League.

The show will be at the Coldspring Community Shelter on April 9. Fashions by Chico of Kingwood will be modeled by members of the League and a delicious lunch catered by Mary Gray will be served. The silent auction is another great attraction. If you have items to donate for this, please contact Jessica at 979.412.3162. This number is good for more information if needed.

Tickets will be on sale by March 12 for $25 each, and are available at the Coldspring Senior Center, call at (936) 653-4175 or from a member of the Women's League. This is always a great event with beautiful clothes which you can buy at a discount from Chico's as an attendee of the event.

•Earlier on Thursday the Inspired Hope Outreach Ministry held a lunch and entertainment get together for some residents of Woodland Park Nursing Home. They were bused to the Family Restaurant on South Byrd Avenue in Shepherd and everyone had a very enjoyable time. This event was organized by Dr. Anita Wright, Margaret Williams and Sylvia Scott. The latter also catered food for the group although the Event Director, Alyssa Tirey, brought packed lunches for them too.

The Church Outreach group with Pastor Brooks gave a short PowerPoint message of "Love is Food for the Soul." Gregg Cones was asked to sing while the residents ate, and he was given a very warm welcome. Even wheelchair-bound guests clapped or tapped their feet as he sang.
