WOODVILLE – Special Agent Mike Boone keynoted the Tyler County Farm Bureau banquet Monday evening at the Woodville First Baptist Church, Oct. 6.

Boone rallied the 300 guests with a few stories and took questions. Boone became a household name as a Texas Game Warden in the long-running show Lone Star Law which showcased the elite expertise of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Boone retired from TPWD after 30 years and now serves as a Special Ranger for the Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, the oldest and largest livestock association in Texas, representing over 17,000 cattle farms with about four million head of cattle ranging to 76 million.

Boone and about 30 agents in District 23, Region 5, cover the southeastern region bordering Louisiana and the Gulf Coast including Chambers, Hardin, Harris, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, Polk, Sabine, San Jacinto and Tyler counties.

Just in case they needed him for any cattle problem, he encouraged them to save the busy Tyler County Sheriff Office and call the TCSO dispatch or call his office for a personal response at 409-658-5725.

Keith Hatton received a plaque honoring his 40 years of service to the Tyler County Farm Bureau by its president, Wade Skinner, which has etched on it some deer reflecting his love of hunting.

Skinner noted that Hatton had never won a drawing, so in fun, they unveiled the first win of the night, a top-quality deer feeder.

Hatton thanked all for the decades, his faithful competent secretaries, fellow agents, the board, and especially his wife Julie, closing his remarks with “God bless you.” Hatton passed the leadership of the Tyler County office to his son, Dallas Hatton, to a standing ovation at their annual meeting Monday evening, Oct. 6, at the Woodville First Baptist Church’s Family Life Center.
