From Staff Reports
COLMESNEIL – For the 2024-25 school year, Colmesneil ISD partnered with the Rural Student Success Initiative (RSSI).
The RSSI aims to expand post-secondary opportunities for rural students and increase the number of students enrolling in and completing post-secondary certificates or degrees. This initiative takes advantage of the Texas A&M Agri-LIfe Extension Services, which include county agents and youth development programs. It also connects rural schools with statewide partners to ensure the success of our students.
So far this year, the RSSI team has presented several informative parent and student sessions, including “College 101,” a FAFSA ID Help Session, an eighth-grade college field trip, and a college essay writing workshop. RSSI supports students in the eighth through 12 grades to ensure post-secondary access and success.
