WOODVILLE – Tyler County Judge Milton Powers announced last week that the county was awarded a $250K grant to implement a plan for combating wildfires. “This grant aims to protect homeowners, farmers, ranchers, and all citizens from wildfires, Powers said.
This plan, once implemented, will enable us to apply for additional grant funding and assistance. These resources will help decrease fire hazards and slow wildfire spread throughout the county, safeguarding homes, businesses, and structures during severe droughts.
We extend our gratitude to the Texas A&M Forest Service personnel for explaining grant rules and regulations.
Protecting our citizens and preparing for wildfire dangers remains a top priority for our Commissioners Court and the Tyler County Emergency Management Team.
