WOODVILLE – A Galveston County man wanted on a felony assault charge was arrested last week in Woodville, according to Sheriff Bryan Weatherford.
Weatherford said that on last Wednesday, Nov. 12, Alexis Delarosa, a 38-year-old Texas City man, was arrested on a felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon warrant. Weatherford said the warrant stemmed from a shooting that took place during a domestic altercation in Galveston County.
Information from investigators led to law enforcement becoming aware of Delarosa staying at a residence on the west side of Tyler County, Weatherford said, and last Thursday, agents from several different agencies executed a joint operation to arrest the suspect.
Officers with the United States Marshall Service, the Office of Inspector General, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office and the Tyler County District Attorney’s Office were involved in the operation, and Delarosa was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Tyler County Jail.
Delarosa was subsequently transferred to the Galveston County Jail, where he is listed as awaiting trial on a $100,000 bond.
