WOODVILLE – Woodville ISD was announced on Monday that it was chosen by the “Capturing Kids’ Hearts” group as a National Showcase School District.

“We are immensely proud of our district’s commitment to creating a positive and nurturing environment where every member of our school community can thrive,” said WISD superintendent Lisa Meysembourg.

Capturing Kids’ Hearts, which was founded by Flip Flippen, the founder and CEO of the Flippen Group, a consortium for training educators, selects its schools each year for the designation.

The Capturing Kids’ Hearts group began in 1990, and now services more than 37,000 educators each year, nationwide, according to its website.

According to the group’s website, it gauges worthiness for the “National Showcase” nod based on a number of metrics, including campus data and feedback from staff and students. WISD was named to this honor for the 2023-24 school year, as well.

“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” Meysembourg said.

In addition to the district-wide honor from Capturing Kids’ Hearts, two of WISD’s campuses, Woodville High School and Woodville Middle School, were individually honored as “Showcase Schools” from the group.

The district, in a statement, said it would like to extend its gratitude to all of the educators, administrators and staff members whose dedication contributed to the honor.
